First things first – guys I’m so sorry I’ve been MIA lately! I let myself get super distracted and I missed posts for Memorial Day, D-Day, and last weeks music Wednesday. Sorry! I promise I’ll try not to let this happen again!
So, time to get back on track. I have a couple of Spotify-generated playlists saved to my account. These are awesome because once a month or so they get updated, giving me the opportunity to hear some new music.
This week my Praise & Worship playlist was updated and this was one of the songs I heard. I couldn’t tell who was singing, at first I thought it was Miley Cyrus (uh…oops?), but I do know the lyrics of this song hit me. Naturally, I listened to it again, saved it, and have had it on repeat since.
“Thy Will” is the first single by Hillary Scott (yeah, the lead singer of Lady Antebellum) and the Scott family. They have an upcoming album called Love Remains. In an interview, Scott talked about how she prayed for something in her life, felt like God had answered the prayer and the way it was answered looked differently than she thought it would.
I think that’s why I resonate with the song so much. Listening to Scott talk about the song, I was able to understand and correlate to my own circumstances. The song is raw and when you really listen to the song, it hits you hard.
Okay, I’ve talked enough – I present to you Thy Will by Hillary Scott and the Scott Family.
If you’re interested in listening to the interview where Scott talks about her journey with the song, you can listen to it here.
